This year I hope I can leave a part of myself here while I can take something with me back to Norway. Especially I wish that I will get a new picture of the world and God and become stronger in my faith. I hope that this year I will make a difference in my own and others life.

Sport has always been an important part of my life, and I want to share my joy for sports with other people. I am also interested in how sport can be used as a tool to contribute to social change, such as self-confidence, empowerment, bringing people together, teaching people about life skills, and so on. I hope that I will have contributed in doing a small change by the time I leave Tanzania. It’s also giving me so much more back. Martin Hammervik

I’m Martin, a 25 year old guy from Norway. I was born and raised in Trondheim, a city in middle of Norway, but I have spent the last four years in Kristiansand. In Kristiansand I studied journalism at Gimlekollen School of Journalism and Communication, followed by two years at the University of Agder where I took political science, and developing studies.

Kristiansand is the 5th largest city in Norway with about 80 000 citizen. I noticed that’s quite few if we compare it to Dar es Salam for an example.

I want to present some quick, basic fact about myself and my interest.

Full name:                   Martin Aarhoug Hammervik
Age:                            25
Siblings:                      One sister, 29 years old
Interests:                     Music, movies, photography, swimming, volleyball, football, spend time with friends, reading, technology, and much more
Style:                           Casual
Political views:            Liberal
Religious views:          Christian

I love to meet new people and establish new friendships. As person, I’m easy hang around, and I have a stable mood.

In 2009, I went on a school trip with Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania as destination. The tour was for four weeks. It was very interesting, and we learned a lot about African culture, political systems and the media in Kenya. We didn’t spend so much time in Tanzania, only one week at Zanzibar. So when I left to go back to Norway I felt that this country had so much more to offer, so I said to myself “What a beautiful place. Some day I’m gonna be back and experience the rest of this beautiful country”. And here I am.

I love working with CHRISC. I feel that it’s very meaningful, and it’s great to see so many active youths.

Full name: Eirik Bergsjø
Sex: Male
Birthday: January, 10th
Siblings: 2 brothers and 1 foster sister
Current city: Arusha, Tanzania
Hometown: Høland, Norway
Religious: Christian
Interests: Family, friends, football, CHRISC, go hiking and hunting.

My name's Eirik and I'm a 21 year old boy from the countryside east of Oslo in Norway, well known as Høland. This year I'm so lucky and get to travel to Tanzania where I, in collaboration with KRIK Norge and Strømme Foundation are going to work with CHRISC. Strømme Foundation has a vision about "a world free from poverty" and CHRISC wants to transform and actively engage youth for society development. Through the studies at Hald Internasjonale Senter, I'm so excited about being at this Act Now program and I'm looking forward to work with the staff at the national office and the volunteers working in the Arusha district.
In Norway I have been a participant at KRIK activities for many years. In the age of fifteen I started a local-team at my home place. The local-team was growing fast and after a short while we had a lot of members. During my high-school education I was a leader in another local-team and the last year during my national service in the Norwegian army I’ve been a board member in the KRIK District-board of Akershus.
I love see people enjoying life, to see children smiles when they plays football or listen to the word of God. Therefore I think the vision and mission about CHRISC is amazing! ..and it fits me well;-)
